Why I’m Running

As a combat medic, I saw firsthand how Obama’s budget cuts put the lives of our servicemembers in jeopardy. Today, Joe Biden’s woke ideology is destructive to our nation, our livelihoods, and families. I served our country. I thought I was done. I was never political. Today, our nation is threatened by progressive policies, and it’s not enough to sit on the sidelines. I’m proud to enter the arena to protect our values for my friends, family, and neighbors

– Staff Sergeant Kane Smith

Meet Kane

Duty

Kane Smith’s parents instilled in him a sense of duty, faith, and patriotism an early age. Kane’s parents have been married for 46 years. Kane’s father— like both Kane’s grandfathers – spent 34 years in law enforcement. His mother played an active role in Kane’s education and activities, always offering encouragement and support.

Service

While in college, Kane found a sense of belonging in his ROTC program. Kane left college early to pursue his passion, protecting the liberties and country we love, as a member of the U.S. Army. He returned to graduate after multiple combat tours in the Middle East.

Combat Medic

Kane served as an Infantryman before transitioning to a Special Operations Combat Medic where he served two active-duty tours in Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom, fighting Al-Qaida and other U.S. enemies on the front line.  Kane’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal w OLC, Army Achievement Medal w Oak Leaf Cluster, Expert Infantry Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, OEF Campaign Ribbon, OIF Campaign Ribbon, OIF Expeditionary Ribbon, Military Freefall and Static Line Jumpmaster Badges, German Freefall Jumpmaster Badge,  and numerous other awards and commendations.

Defender of Liberty

After leaving the Army, Kane continued to serve his country as a defense contractor stationed in the Middle East, preserving liberty for Americans and our foreign allies seeking freedom. Kane served over 86 months of “boots on ground” combat time in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2002 to 2013. He served in several positions working with officials including President George W. Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Ambassadors Khalilzad and Crocker, and many dignitaries, Senators, Congressmen, and U.S. Diplomats. He also served on a security detail protecting the judges who presided over Saddam Hussein’s trial.

Tulsa Job Creator and Entrepreneur

Following his overseas combat tours, Kane relocated to Tulsa to establish a variety of businesses. After dealing in procurement for allies of the United States overseas, Kane brought his extensive knowledge of project management and logistics to the private sector founding several companies that managed projects ranging from $1 Million to $3 Billion. Kane currently owns several real estate and banking-related entities in addition to insurance consulting and aviation asset management companies.

Charitable Work

Kane has served as a board member and facility committee chair at the Lindsey House, a board member of the Rite Care Clinics for children’s speech therapy, Founding Member of the Oklahoma Police Foundation, Advisor to the Board of Soldier’s Wish, and Chairman of the Board of Great Plains Land and Wildlife Conservation Corporation. He is also an active member of the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Loving Husband and Father

Kane’s wife Chelsea is a Tulsa native.  Kane and Chelsea have an 11 year-old son, Turner. The Smiths have worked hard to teach Turner the value of patriotism, faith, and personal responsibility.
